Moonlight Rhythm Society consists of three musicians that have been together since the early 1980s. Marcus Oberlechner and Andreas Oberlechner are Austrian Expats who since their emigration to South Africa have lived close to Johannesburg. Peter Gaylord is the third member of the trio and the principle contributor to the song writing team.

The uncertainties and inherent difficulties in making a living out of the music industry led to Andreas and Marcus obtaining university qualifications in law and science respectively

with Peter active in the running of the medieval themed restaurant that also

provided an outlet to perform his music.

In 2020 the world came to a grinding halt allowing for Moonlight Rhythm Society to write

new material assisted by major strides in technology and recording techniques.
